Not sure if this would be reliable but worth trying.

Call the bank up that you want to apply to. Speak to some one and ask them if they know when they will report to the CRA's for your first statement if approved. If you are happy with what they say put your application in with them on the phone and apply. If not move to the next bank you are interested in applying with.

If I got to make my own world, this would work like a charm.  It really ought to work that way.

But, at least in my experience, in the real world, CSR's rarely (okay - in my experience it would be never) have a clue as to things like this.  Occasionally you get a really friendly CSR who evidently got caught with their hands in the cookie jar repeatedly while growing up and have developed a skilled way of cheerfully spouting off any piece of information they feel would make folks happy and get them out of a sticky situation.  So, either you get a CSR that doesn't know and is willing to admit it; or you get a CSR that doesn't  know and gives you some lovely info that cheers you up and gets you off their phone line, but is inaccurate.

If anyone has had a better experience with CSR's actually knowing when accounts report - especially initially -  perhaps they'll chime in.  I'd love to be wrong on this one.

Yes I am in agreement. I just thought since we can not actually give a definitive answer to this question, he or she may have better luck with them.

Smiley Very Happy

Orchard in particular gave me the hives.  Before I learned (from these forums, btw) that Orchard reports on the last (working) day of the month, I got three different answers from their very friendly CSR's.   I'm sure they thought I was a bit over-the-top in even wanting to know - if they even understood what I was asking.  Not that they weren't bright - it's just that it's not in their job description or training - there's really no way I should have expected them to know.  But I didn't realize that at the time.  Smiley Indifferent

Re: Increasing Credit Score Quickly

I wouldn't be trying with a low end card if it was me in their predicament. Scores are not that bad with no revolving accounts. No negatives reporting. I would probably go to my bank or CU that I bank with and see if they can help me out. CU's would be more willing to help if you are a member IMO, but some banking personnel are more then willing to go out of the way to help you if you have history with them also.
