And now about those screenshots...
You are not taking screenshots! You are taking pictures of your monitor!
Not only is MyFICO a place to learn about credit but you can learn about computers here too!
If you want to take a screenshot when you are using a Windows program like Excel, Word or other Windows program, use the SNIPPING TOOL that is included with Windows accesories. You just need to launch the tool, pick what kind of screenshot you want, I usally use rectangular snip, pull a window over the image you want saved and then save it to your Pictures directory. You can then edit this picture using Microsoft Paint if you want/need to before uploading it to Imgur.com. (That is how I added arrows and text to my images posted earlier.)
Now if you are using a browser like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox you need to add an extension called Nimbus to the browser. You can do that by opening the options screen and get extensions or add-ons. It works just like the Microsoft Snipping Tool only better.
Now if you are using an Apple Computer, I feel sorry for you and offer no help.
Now that's not very FSR...
(For reference, press Command+Shift+4 on OSX to take a rectangular-selection screenshot)
Just a quick question to those that have the Alliant share secured loan. How long did it take Alliant to report the loan to the CRA's? A week, month, longer?
Thanks.
@Revelate wrote:Well since it's pics or it didn't happen, note last reported date vs. last payment date.
The dates are only like one month appart, considering any delays in reporting and such, still not very reassuring
I'm really interested in this too, as I just applied for the Alliant loan. I received a message from a guy (underwriter?) saying my loan was approved but he needed to talk to me over the phone about some details, before it is fully done. Since he didn't call after that (apparently out of office 'til Monday) I wrote back asking a few details, and this subject was one of them. Will report back.

Every lender I've done this with hasn't blinked other than DCU who notified me that they were resetting my advance payments to 3 months. I wouldn't go poking the bear frankly, my Alliant loan is reporting exactly as expected: pretty OK's when I haven't made a payment after June 1st.
I simply don't understand the concern.
Dont't poke the bear.
How much does Alliant increase the loan rate when you cancel automatic payments? I see everyones pictures show a much higher rate than the 2.9% they gave me...
Picture, or it never happened:
I paid $125 right off the bat (1 year of the 4 year $500 loan), and automatic payments are still in effect so that paid $11.06 on 8/25. Do I need to call to cancel the auto pay ?
PS: I finally received a postcard from Alliant offering me $50 to open the high interest checking account I wanted, so I jumped on that. It was opened online instantly, unlike the 2.5+ week wait for my new Alliant credit card ($20k).

Current discount rate is 0.40% (mine is at 2.95% x 48 months).
5 year is an extra 1%.
Since prepaying it in advance whether it was 1% or 1000% difference is trivial (can always pay it down to 99% instead of 90% if needed to minimize interest) and given that longer is better for FICO purposes, generally one should take the longest tradeline available for this particular reindeer game.

It took 2 and a half months after opening my Alliant loan for it to appear on my Credit Karma accounts.

Mine took almost a month. It reported the new loan, but not any payment history yet. I'm hoping for that to occur soon (maybe during tomorrow's weekly update).

I have to agree here. Revelate, you paid June 2015 and have got a green OK for his month. You haven't paid July 2015 and haven't got a green OK for that month. Not massively reassuring! It would be great if I'm just missing something here ??
