I manage my partner's credit card accounts. I got all three FICO 8's to 850 and have maintained 850 on all three for several months.
These are score changes on Experian (FICO 8 from CCT)
August 1 -- 850
(Amex reporting $354, Cap 1 reported $3)
August 6 - 834 (down 16 points)
(Only AMEX charge card reporting. No revolvers)
August 10 - 834 (no change)
(AMEX reporting $354. BofA reporting $46)
August 11 - 850 (Up 16 points)
(AMEX reporting $354, BofA reporting $46, Synch Cathay Pacific VISA reporting $3)
How does this make sense with AZEO? Very odd.

Can't use a charge card for AZEO. The 16 point loss was the penalty for having no revolvers reporting. Once you added back in a revolver, the points came back. Could be worse. I got hit with a 20 point loss for having all revolvers report zero. Next month my Discover reported $5, I got my 20 back plus an additional 21. Made it look like I gained 41 points in 2 days.

You are 100% correct, but the point of my post is that when a revolver reported a balance on 8/10 (BofA Alaska Air Visa - $46) the points did not come back. However on the following day, 8/11, a second revolver, Cathay Pacific Visa reported a $3 balance and the 16 points came back. They should have come back the day before.
It doesn't really matter, the points came back, but in this case it took two revolvers reporting to get back to the perfect 850.

Doesn't sound right to me. For whatever reason the one revolver that reported a non zero balance still didn't "count" in the eyes of the algorithm. It's definitely not a case of needing 2 revolvers to report to get your points back, as evidenced by the fact that with only 1 reported revolving balance you were able to grab 850.
Just to prove it was an abnormality/algorithm glitch I'd take the second revolver back to $0, call them and ask for an off-cycle reporting and once that $0 balance reports pull your scores again. I have no doubt you'd still be at 850.

I will do this! I'm not in any way trying to disprove AZEO, I'm just trying to figure out what's going on here. I do know that the two revolvers that reported, two days apart, are both VISA cards. I was thinking one might have been seen as a charge card and thus seen the same as the AMEX.
I will update later but it might take until next month to zero out the revolvers and try again. There are 12 revolvers, one charge card (AMEX) and a mortgage. No lates. No inquiries. No new accounts in the last two years. And the AAoA did not change. The only change were these items I have noted.
