Actually, re-reading your post we are virtually saying the same thing. I was thinking about controlling how much gets reported to the CRAs. For instance, I use my CC extensively for my normal purchases, so that I can get the air miles. I then pay down to a small balance for reporting purposes and PIF before due date.

Re-read post #3. I never once suggested that you stated to pay interest to a CCC. I was trying to make a distinction (apparently not too clearly though) on how to control what gets reported to the CRAs.

I know of a few who post higher scores when they let no CC report a balance. Me? Tried that and took a FICO hit. I think it all depends upon your individual file. I wouldn't let more than 9% report in any case. Better is under 5% I think.

I personally took a significant hit too, by not allowing a balance to report.

Re: Is it good to carry a small balance on a credit card, instead of zero?

Though of little significance, a lame hit was aimed at me, by a childish MODERATOR(?) who seems free to blindly display ignorance, OVER and OVER again. I see after so much time has passed now that you are still so lost in your self, convinced I guess that you're such a protected element here at the forums, you didn't take a second to apologize to me after acting out and attacking me, personally, without provocation. Contrary to the proper behavior that should be expected of any moderator, by a long shot, and unnoticed by other mods and admin alike. Make no mistake, birdthing, I am referring to you. You are rude, and have shown clearly that you do not carry the responsibilities of a moderator well at all. Add to this fact that your unacceptable behavior goes unnoticed, not by the users who make up these forums, but by those who are obligated to curb your actions at the very least, does a little more than teeter on appalling. Relatively speaking of course, considering you're just a thickheaded jerk as far as I can see. Nevertheless it's worth pointing out that a moderator at myfico isn't held accountable for this type of behavior.

Now you've gone and really made a mod mad.  Probably cost us all a few FICO points.  WTG.
