Is this possible?

Hello,

I just purchased my FICO scores at the same time today-- 672 from Equifax and (gasp) 615 from Transunion. Now here's the deal...

There is a new collections account posted on Transunion only, along with a my recent inquiries from the last 12 months. Equifax doesn't have either the collections OR the inquires (from auto loan shopping). I pulled the reports on the same day and time -- is it a matter of time before my EQ score goes down too?

Now the second part of my question is this: the collections account is from an old medical bill (2006) that I disputed with an urgent care center. Long story short, I thought it was resolved that they would simply write it off. Not so -- 3 years later they decide to place it in collections. However, I spoke with the collections agency today. and they said there was a mistake and the urgent care center never wanted any of their accounts reported to the credit bureaus unless they are VERY overdue -- which mine is not b/c it was only placed there last month.

So -- how long until my credit score reflects this? Will it ever be reported to EQ? It's already reported to TU, so do I need to do anything? The collections agency said I need not do anything, and that it will be removed from the credit bureaus.

Any and all help/advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Is this possible?

Welcome to the forums!

If there are no inquiries on EQ from those same lenders, then they won't appear on now. Most creditors only pull one CRA, rather than 2 or 3, though there certainly are exceptions. The inquiries usually appear at the same time on the same day if posted on multiple CRAs. Also, all auto and mortgage inquiries within any given CRA count as one single inquiry per FICO scoring if pulled within a 14 or 30 day window, depending on the CRA. FICO realizes that the avg. consumer shops around with multiple lenders to find the best rate on cars and homes.

The CA could appear at any time on EQ, but as time goes by the chances of that happening diminish. If it does appear, your score will drop. It is totally up to the CA to decide which CRAs to report to.

If the CA said that it would be removed, then give it a little time. Some CAs only update once a month and TU is always the last to update.
