I've been working on repairing DH's reports since his BK 13 discharged in August. I pulled his reports from the seperate companies and sent them a letter with the problems that needed to be corrected. He received a letter from TU dated 11/11/09 indicating the problems were corrected so we went an pulled his new FICO and his score actually dropped and MyFICO is stating his most recent late payment was ZERO months ago!!!! Completely untrue!! He hasn't had a late payment since his BK was filed 4 years ago. I have SCOURED his TU report trying to figure out the problem and I can't figure out the discrepancy! MyFICO is also stating in the simulator that he has a past due balance of about $1500 when it doesn't state anywhere else that he has a past due balance.
From everything that I can "see" his TU and EQ reports are identical, but the scores are 100 points different. I'm about to pull my hair out!!!
Can someone help me out here??
Should I call CS? Also, if I call customer service will they answers my questions even though I'm not DH? Frankly he doesn't understand this whole credi repair business so I'm handling it all for him.
I don't have any real answer for you, just a 'I'm sort of confused as to whats happening with TU's FICO scoring also' reply,
They may have changed something in their scoring algorhythm as I just pulled my TU score which had been my highest score by far by virture of only having 4 INQ's in the past year and it's dropped 45-pts from this past May, I went from 795 to 750?
I had a 14-pt gain on EQ from three INQ's and two accounts turning 1 last week and I figured my TU score would be 800 since those two accounts also turned 1 on TU, but it ain't,
As for the late payment being reported in your DH case, Someother creditor didn't report a late recently?,, Since you said he hasn't missed anypayments it's more likely they somehow re-aged a late payment on one of those old accounts,, I'd call them to get them to figure out which one it was and get them to correct it,
One of the problems we had them correct was the one and only CA on his report. It was included in his BK so we had them change the balance to ZERO and add the IIB indication. Oddly this CA reported every month so by virtue of changing the balance to ZERO is probably what did it?? Seriously!!! EQ corrected it the same way and it didn't effect the score at all.
I'm certain it's the way they are reporting his student loans. His loans were being paid while in his BK 13 and after it discharged in august we took over the payments, but the payments have not been late. The only thing that I can think of is TU is still reporting these loans as IIB but Paying As Agreed, but EQ is reporting them as Paying as Agreed, but not IIB anymore. I think this is the major issue, what do you think??
Hmmm.....I have sent a letter to TU to correct his SL to read that they are no long IIB since the BK has been discharged and he has taken over payments...I hope this fixed the problem!!
