Keep paying Amex on closed account directly?

So the good news is that Amex's closing of my accounts has not hurt my scores as I still get the age/history.  They did say they were going to pass it over to GC Services, which I don't get since it is totally current.  I think GC may have called a few times, I did not pick up, they have not written me.

In any event, my auto-pay is still set with Amex, so Green was PIF last month, and Gold has taken two payments, so totally current as it reports. Plan is to continue AP for 2-3 months then PIF ($2k or so).

If I am paying Amex each month and have been doing so and am current, can GC collect and/or place a Collection on my Credit Report. I continue to get bills from Amex each month as if it is an active account, and have not been asked to PIF the Gold.

I'd just as soon just let this pay down and then be reported as 25 year old paid/current/closed account.

this happened to me. usually when amex closes account you have 30 days to PIF even if it is a revolving account or they report as a charge-off. doesn't seem logical i know. they're argument was that upon cancellation of the account, the terms were cancelled and the balance was due. I submitted dispute and TU removed the tls and EX kept coming back verified even after submitting additional documentation. I WILL NEVER HAVE AN AMEX AGAIN!

Oh that sucks.  Well should I contact GC Services then and see if that can be avoided?  One thing in my favor is they send me bills every month for the min payment, can't I supply that to the CRA and show that each month they billed me and each month I paid that? Unless they actually send me a 'Please Pay in Full' mail and keep sending me a 'Monthly Bill =" and I pay that, I can't see how any CRA could report otherwise.

I'd also consider a suit.  My lawyer is suing Experian for refusing to look at documentation that debt was not mine that both TU and Efx properly deleted, and is 99% confident, having done this before, that I will win.

I can't see how if you have records of their billing you min and you paying min, how Experian can report a charge-off. It may be in your contract that they can demand payment in full if they cancel, they also would have to in fact demand payment in full or give you a bill for payment in full that you ignore.

Re: Keep paying Amex on closed account directly?

Amex closed both of my cards but for soem reason seems to be working with me. I called and asked if I could get the APR lowered. A nice lady put me on some program where I am on 0% for 6 months and 9.9% for another 6 months all on closed accounts. Not sure if this is normal but my apr was 28% and this was for the costco and student blue card. Was todl if I paid it off in full it would be reopened we will see.

Interesting, I gues I should call and see what is what. Tomorrow is my new statement posting date, so I will look and see what they are asking for. If it says min my auto will take care of it, and I'll download the statement.

I did send a letter to one of their execs explaining the issue (which was theirs) to see if they would agree to reinstate under specific circumstances.  So far no answer...
