Howdy,

How exactly do you know when your various creditors report to the bureaus? Does it vary by your payment due dates or does it vary from lender to lender?

Thanks!

Hello and welcome.

Most issuers report to the CRA's on the statement date or within a few days of it. A few of them report on the last business day of the month (I can't ever remember exactly which ones do this because none of mine do).

If you don't mnd listing your creditors you should get answers as to when they report.

End-of-the-month club:

HSBC and Orchard bank cards (not the store cards like the Best Buy store card) --they report the balance as of the last day, but they don't send it in for another week or so

USBank cards, all kinds apparently --they report the balance as of the last business day, and they send it in that day

doubtless some others, especially from local banks and local CU's

Otherwise, for everyone else it's pretty much the balance due that shows on your statement, and submitted that night. Not the due date, but the date that the statement pops up.

Re: Leave all my Credit Cards at a $0 balance except one?

Thanks you guys! You've been wonderfully responsive. I have dudes like Chase and CapitalOne, and the ever-wonderful Federal Student Loans. I've been trying for the longest to figure out when my "golden" time to buy my credit score would be...haha. Most of my statements dates are in the 20s of the month, and I just never knew how to word my question before!

Thanks again.
