Hello,
I have an issue that I do not understand. This is not a big deal, I am just curious.
My FICO 2 was not gaining as I thought it should. I suspected my 30K CL AMEX was not being factored into the FICO 2, I assumed due to the high CL. This is the only card that I usually let report a small balance. Therefore I let my credit union card report a small balance. When it did so I briefly had 2 cards reporting a balance. The resulting changes to FICO 8 were:
TU 842 to 831 (-11)
EQ 844 to 840 (-4)
EX 837 to 840 (+3)
I don't understand why EX went up? These are the only changes I can find to account for the scores. I use myFICO and Experian so I have good visibility, and the dates coincided. I expected these changes to reverse when the AMEX balance came off my report. When the AMEX balance came off my report a few days later, reporting a zero balance, the FICO 8 changes were:
TU no change
EQ 840 to 844 (+4)
EX no change
I have since went through another reporting of my credit union card without gaining or losing the points. My AMEX will report another zero balance in a few days. But it does show a zero balance now, and at last reporting. My FICO 2 did raise as a result of this, so I am confident my 30K AMEX is not being factored into that score.
Any ideas why I gained, and didn't lose, EX points when 2 cards reported a balance?
Any ideas why TU didn't recover when only 1 card reported a balance?
Thanks for your time
Chad
