Lost points due to reporting error

Hey all ,

I had a paid and closed account (was a CO) somehow accidenally report two 90 day lates in January and Feb of this year that were in error. This account was paid in full two years ago and had been reported correctly up to this point .  I wound up loosing 40 points from this error.  I disputed it as well as contacted the creditor and they corrected the errors.  The problem I have is that I have yet to get these points back and myFICO shows my equifax score has having a missed payment at zero months.  How do I fix this and get my points back ?!!! Trying to refi my truck and those 40  points killed that process.  It should be no missed payments in 2.5 years . Please help , I shouldn't be penalized for a reporting error by myFICO !

Re: Lost points due to reporting error

The reporting error is not on the end of MF.  MF is just a CMS that provides you with reports/scores.  Those reports/scores comes from the CRA data reported to them by your creditors.  If there's an error with the reporting of on of your accounts, you've got to get your creditor to correctly report the account.  Once the CRA gets the updated/correct data and that data is run through the Fico algorithm by MF, you'll see your new score(s) based on that new/correct data.
