Posted this in another forum, but it looks like this is a better venue.
I've got some things to clean up, but there is some huge parity between FICO 8 and mortgage scores -
EQ: 633 (FICO8) / 564 (FICO5)
TU: 641 (FICO8) / 604 (FICO4)
EX: 632 (FICO8) / 548 (FICO2)
Trying to get to a 620 mid.
The trash:
Collections:
7 to 8 medical collections reporting on EQ and TU (None reported on EX). 6 were/are supposed to be removed (in dispute trying to ensure that occurs) - these are paid. Disputed the unpaid one (which is under $100). The 8th med collection, the agency agreed to remove and has done so on one report (just waiting on the other)
3 COs:
1 Verizon (paid), was supposed to be updated paid/closed, Verizon didn't follow through and marked it Paid/Was CO. I've disputed on all three bureaus but have not had success thus far. Guess the next step will be BBB.
1 First Premier (2007) - FCRA/BBB approach, they have agreed to remove. It only remains on TransUnion.
1 CreditOne (2011/12)- emailed the pres, received an email back that something would be mailed to me. Had been disputing them, each were verified (I screwed up here - the CO is from 2011/12 and hadn't been reporting. The dispute caused it to re-report on EX which dropped my mortgage FICO 50 points).. Hoping the letter in the mail is good news. Debt was sold years ago so CreditOne can't do a PFD.
Lates:
(2) 30 day lates on a paid and closed Capital One Auto - going to attempt a GW (but the lates are from 2013 so I'm not sure what the affect is).
An assortment of lates (90/120+) on three different MOHELA student loans, last late 22 months ago. They aren't going to GW so I'm stuck on this. From what I understand these perhaps will have less sting after the 24 month mark?
I had some authorized user accounts with VERY high UTIL - I've requested that all but one of these be removed. I can't really tell what the impact truly is on these (some places I look seem to include their UTIL in the cards that belong to me, others do not). While they may have helped in my AAOA, none we my oldest account.
Revolving Utilization is 6%, so I am praying that if the medical collections go away along with the First Premier and Credit One, that will be enough to get me to 620. Any prognostications as to whether this is quickly possible?
Take a look at the Rebuilding Your Credit section here on My FICO to help you with each of derogatory tradelines. Do you have any positive accounts reporting now? If so, how many and what are their credit limits and balances?
One tip: make sure you have all of your disputes removed before you apply for a mortgage. The disputes mask your score and the mortgage lenders will not be able to process your loan with the disputes in place.
Thanks for the response.
I have 7 installment loans, 6 student loans and an auto loan. 3 are the previously late notes, 4 have always been positive.
5 credit cards. Total combined limits of $10,000. Total reported balances $600 (split between 2 cards). One is a department store card, 3 capital one cards, 1 citi. None ever late. Also 2 more authorized user accounts never late but close to full util.
There are also 2 or 3 other closed auto loans, all never late and paid off.
I requested that the disputes against credit one and fpb be ended since I'm hopefully they will resolve. Do I need to have all reference of dispute removed, or they just can't be pending?
All reference of the dispute, including dispute comments, need to be removed before you apply for a mortgage.
