Mortgage not showing up on credit reports. Is that helping or hurting my FICO score?

When I moved from CA to NC and sold the old house and bought I new one, I obviously got a new mortgage (with Wells Fargo).

I was told when I got declined for a credit card by one of the staff that my mortgage did not appear on my credit report.  I got a copy for myself, and they are right.  So I guess Wells Fargo for some reason (what??) is not reporting my mortgage to the 3 credit bureaus...

Is this huring my FICO score?  Could it possibly be helping my FICO score?  I don't know whether to call Wells Fargo and ask them to start reporting it - and who I would even ask for that would be able to help me with this matter.

Can anybody help?  I am very close to being back in the 700 club, but need to be above 720 in order to get some of the refi options I'm wanting (and would like to get some extra 0% credit cards to help with these messed up economic times since I'm self-employed and biz is BAD).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

How long ago did you close on your new home?

5-6 months is certainly enough time for the loan to report. Does the loan show up on any of your credit reports? I would probably call Wells Fargo and ask what is going on.

I would definitely want this reporting. For most people, having a mortgage reporting helps their score by its contribution to their credit mix.

Also, since mortgages last so long, they contribute greatly to history with time.
