I have been making post about this on different threads, but since ALL of my accounts are totally clean, the results have astounded me!
In January 2016 I had a 630 score and 5 baddies. I knew that most of them would fall off by November, and for the most part they did and my scores crept up. I also dug into learning credit and was able to get some good cards and learn how to nurture them.
10/15 my scores were EQ 652, TU 696, EX 681
Since then, the last of the baddies have fallen off, the last one was on EQ and it fell off last night
My scores this morning are
I am blown away to see how much change I got for getting clean...double what I was expecting. I have clean payments for almost 7 years now, so I believe I went into a different bucket, which would explain the large jump?
Main reason to post this is for those of you just starting your journey, half way there, or almost there. My message is hang in there, do the right thing, and read everything you can and listen. I am still learning a ton and there are MANY wiser people here that have "been there done that" that are willing to share their knowledge and experiences. This board is AWESOME!
Right now for me, I am going to pay NFCU a little visit this week and see them about a Platinum card! Then its off to the garden for about 2 years! ![]()
Nice progress!
Big congratulations on the progress.
If I calculate correctly, it looks like a score improvement of 140+, not 244? Does not minimize your progress, but a 200+ point move seems really not possible, in a normal situation of old baddies getting cleaned up.. The 100+ move seems more common.
Thanks for sharing and again, congratulations; it's a good feeling seeing your score improve like that!
Not sure what you mean, EQ went up from 652 to 753 over the past 2 weeks. I had 2 baddies onEQ and one fell off 11/3 and it went up 44, today the last fell off and went from 696 to 753 for 57 which is 101
TU went up from 696 to 702 on 11/2 and from 702 to 773 on 11/3 which is 77
EX went from 681 to 739, then on 11/1.. up to 747 = 66
Im not trying to quible, but it is a phenominal improvent (for me anyway) and I wasn't sure how rare it was to jump that much......it is far from what I was expecting. I was hoping to reach this level by next summer.
Thanks for the congrats and the reply NRB and TT.....and I like what both of you said, was "progress" indicating I need to work from this base and grow...My AAoA is around 2.5 yrs now, oldest 10 yr on EQ and EX, and 12 yr on TU, which I believe is why it's higher...so I need to let things age. I am going to app for the NFCU Platinum because I want a low apr BT card and I could use the extra cl...then Im into the garden for a long time!
Good job and keep it up.

Again, I'm not trying to put any limits on my congratulations, just trying to realign your measurement of points ![]()
If we added up all our points, my 805, 807 and 800 would total 2,412... but I don't claim to have a credit score of 2,412 ![]()
Since each of the score ranges is the same, and each of the three bureaus tends to score in about the same area if they are reading all the same credit file information, we refer to score improvements as the general improvement within only one scoring range. So you are free to interpret the best-increasing bureau as your score improvement, but we don't get to triple-down on adding all three ![]()

Why stop at mearly tripling-down?
What about all the other scores, like car, vantage, TU04, morgate, car, etc, etc. And there are more than just 3 CRAs.
None the less, congrats to the OP.![]()
Sorry NRB, I wasn't trying to mis-lead anybody...I just stated my scoreS have gone up and then showed the details of each in the post. So I'm not sure what you think I was claiming. But, I will be more careful how I word things next time ![]()
Thanks for your input!

Very nice and now keep it up that way

All the Fico Classic and Enhanced models pull from the "big three" CRAs so EQ/TU/EX scores are available. The same data from the three CRAs is pulled for VantageScore and even educational scoring algorithms developed by CRAs such as EQ's. Unfortunately, many people only have access to free Classic Fico 08 scores from a subset of the CRAs. Most mortgage and enhanced scores are only available as "pay per view".
For discussion purposes it is generally best to list incremental increase/decrease in score by CRA along with model type or state something like: "my Fico 08 scores increased by ___ points on average over the last ___ weeks."
