This has been done before but I wanted to show what impact UTI alone has on FICO scores. My intentions are to come back periodically and update the changes.
I HOPE to have a zero UTI very soon but will post any changes that occur.
These are all using EQ FICOs:
12/20 - 92% UTI
EQ 617
12/27 - 76% UTI
EQ 633
***That's exactly 1 point per uti percentage***. There has been NO OTHER CHANGE in my account between these two reports. AAOA, Last derog, etc. all the same.
Keep us updated. The number of $0 balances factors in too. Fellow FICO scoring junkies like to see examples like this.
You moved it here llecs? I thought it would be appropriate as I'm rebuilding my score with this activity!
Same happened to me a few months ago:
33% util
620
1% util a month later
681
ooooohhh...
SMC, so if you had to make a VERY ROUGH guess. If nothing else changed in my report and I paid it down from 92% to 0 or like 3%, what do you think my 617 would turn into?
JUST A GUESS I KNOW...
THANKS!!!!!!
No one has to guess anything. Bring your utilization down to your desired level and then you'll see for yourself.

It is based on where you are relative to other parts of FICO scoring, such as AAoA, inquiries, etc.
I'd venture a guess you'd probably be around 680, remember that once you get over 30%, all the damage is done.
SMC: Once you get above 30% all the damage is done? Do you mean once I have more than 30% utilization it shoots way down? Or do you mean once I reach 30% I wont see much in terms of score increases by getting the uti even lower?
THANKS!!!!

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Are you saying that 31% utilization has the same effect on a score as 90%? I'm sorry for my confusion.

No, not at all. Just that crossing that line represents the more dramatic drop, from there, 10% doesn't make as much of a drop. IE
9 to 31 may cause a bigger drop than 50 to 80 or 31 to 62, etc.
