My most recent collection is being deleted, will this generate any points?

I received a letter in the mail today that my most recent collection is being deleted, will this more than likely result in any points gained?

Re: My most recent collection is being deleted, will this generate any points?

Sounds like you still have some older ones, but if it's really recent, as in under two years or so, you should see some results. If it's really recent, you might see great results!

I know that the first month that a weenie 30-day late posted, it cost me 50 points. That shows how critical "recency" is with derogatory info on your reports.

Congrats on getting it off, no matter what the effect on your scores turns out to be.

Re: My most recent collection is being deleted, will this generate any points?

It posted on my account in january so its six months old. I don't have any other collections on my account. After this gets deleted, my hsbc best buy account that went deliquent from august to december before it went to collections will be my only lates for 2008. I wish they could get removed because it starts off as 30 days late in august all the way to 120 days late in december Smiley Sad.

Six months old --I'd say you should get a score jump

You will still be in the serious derogatory bucket, and the most serious and recent late is only one month older, so it probably won't be a dramatic jump. If you can possibly hold off until December for a mortgage, you should see a decent score hop once the oldest late turns one year old. I realize that might not happen, though.

Please post back when it comes off all three reports, and let us know what happens to your EQ and TU FICO's!
