Hi, LauraAnn, welcome to the forums!
I don't know if you meant for your entire question to be in your subject title, or if you hit "enter" and accidentally posted without a message. (I've done that so, so many times...)
Anyway, after a lot of comparing of notes, we've come to the belief that this is a warning without any real teeth in it. Don't go trying to get any accounts to stop reporting, as that can wind up hurting your average age of accounts, depending on how long ago the account was opened.
At any rate, accounts generally stay on for 10 years after they are closed. If there are any negatives on them, the negatives should stop reporting 7 years after the negative occurred, and then the account reports as clean for the remainder of the ten years, although members have reported that EQ dumps the whole thing as soon as the last negative is gone.
