I pulled my score on here and got a 723 from TU,walmart is saying that it is 670.....Are thery both right?? Are they just different formulas??
just weird because they both say fico...
Both are right and both are TU FICO scores. The one from here is a version we call TU98 (developed approx. 1998). The one from Wal-Mart is a version called TU08 (circa 2008).
I am certainly curious about the differences too!
I just pulled my fico from myfico.com and it has my score from Transunion as 683.
Walmart has my fico score as 706 as of Jan 5, 2012.
So, which is really my score? hmmmm

Hello and welcome.
I will only repeat what llecs said on this subject:

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 3/11 pulled by lender- 835, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem".
And I'll add, that both are your FICO score. Each lender can choose their own version of FICO to use, though I haven't heard of any mortgage lenders using the TU version from WalMart. WalMart doesn't even use that version when you apply with them. But both are FICO scores and somewhere, someone are using them.

So which is the most frequently used version by lenders?????

I bet there are well over a dozen FICO versions for TU alone floating around out there. Per mortgages, most lenders use a Classic version called TU04, and a lesser few use TU98 (same as on myFICO). I haven't seen any posts where the poster said their lender used TU08 (as found on Wal-MArt's site). If you apply for a CC, and they use a TU FICO (I think GECRB via Wal-Mart apps uses their own internal score), then you are apt to experience a cc-enhanced TU FICO and there are a couple of dominant versions out there. If you apply for a car, you'd find they are more likely to pull an auto-enhanced FICO. This happens moreso at dealers. If you apply via a bank or CU, especially, you might find they'll use a Classic score (TU98 or TU04 likely). For installments, it's a mixed bag. My last loan used TU98.
