Hi,
I just got fico score alert FICO8 from Equifax said my name has changed from First, Last name TO Last, First name. My score drops 6points, Why is this happening? doesnt this happen to anyone? Any ideas?
I just update all my credit file from the 3 bureaus (i am member for all 3) plust my fico alert. I dont have any changed other then name changed from Equifax, why? The name are the same, but they just put my last name and then my first. before was first and last name. i dont know the reason why they are doing this.
The name change isn't what caused the score drop. It is simply the trigger that created the alert.
So what may caused my score to drop? the alert i got was name changed and -6point with the alert. nothing eles change in my file
I agree with Captool. Names are not included in your FICO score. Your report most certainly has changed, though. Even if the accounts are only a couple of days older. Older normally means a higher score. However, it is possible you were re-bucketed. Re-bucketing can drop your score in the short term, but leads to a higher maximum score. Also, check very carefully that none of your accounts have posted updated utilization information. IME util is the biggest reason my score fluctuates when I am not app'g.
The only other thing that comes to mind is if you have AU accounts. It is possible the AU abuse algorithms are excluding some AU accounts, now. We don't know how the AU abuse algorithms work, but last names are important.
