New Approvals Boost Score

Hello All - I've noticed that certain credit cards approvals will boost your score more than others.  Why is that or is that even the case?

The only time new approvals give a credit boost initially is if they change your overall utilization. You may notice some cards helping more than others if they have larger available credit lines decreasing your utilization more than others.

^^ very true, it lowers your AAoA, but can help buff your Utlization. So in some cases you can see your score dinged a few points temporarily.

Personally I don't think new credit card approvals increase your score in the short run.

Just because the same alert which mentions the event has a score increase doesn't necessarily mean that the 2 events are related.

All of the above answers are true. For me personally, I've seen it go both ways, but it made sense each time, for where my credit stood st that time.
