New Member Introduction

First, I hope this is the right place for this post.(Moderators feel free to move this to the appropriate area)

My name is Matt, currently a senior at Loyola College in Baltimore.

My 3 credit scores of TU/EQ/EXP average around 740. From what I have read these seem decent for someone my age (21).

Thanks for all the useful information on this forum that will allow me to use credit responsibily to achieve my lifelong financial goals. I look forward to improving my understanding of credit.

Glad to have you here!

99.9% of those who read this will be green with envy that you've learned this at an early age, and your credit will just keep getting better and better.

The remaining 0.1% are the same age as you.

If you're curious about moving toward the ideal credit profile, try this:

Expanded "FICO High Achievers" list

You almost qualify already!
* Credit is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master. * Who's the boss --you or your credit?
FICO's: EQ 781 - TU 793 - EX 779 (from PSECU) - Done credit hunting; having fun with credit gardening. - EQ 590 on 5/14/2007

That is an excellent score for somebody that young, when I was your age I had never heard of a FICO score and credit reports were a deep dark secret that only the financial industry knew.  All I knew was to pay my bills on time every month, avoid overextending myself financially, and always leave some margin for surprises in the budget.  28 years later, I've learned a few things but those basic principles still seem valid.  Good on you to have learned them already, keep doing what you are doing and you should hit 800 someday.

TU 791 02/11/2013, EQ 800 1/29/2011 , EX Plus FAKO 812, EX Vantage Score 955 3/19/2010 wife's EQ 9/23/2009 803
EX always was my highest when we could pull all three

That's because the FICO score didn't get invented until the early 1990s.

Starting Score: 469
Current Score: 819
Goal Score: 850
