New Mystery Negative: How, Why, What?

I noticed recently that my TU Fico 8 Scores dropped 20-30 points. I opened two new Chase cards this month and also dropped to AZ, so I figured that was the crux of it. Then today, I pulled MyFico 3B report only to find a new negative listed that was there before:

Paid or Paying?Paid or Paying?Invalid?Invalid?Apparently, an AU account I had no knowledge of?Apparently, an AU account I had no knowledge of?

So, I really don't know what this is. I do have a guess though. My mom passed away last year. When I was younger, I was an AU on her Frontier card (Barclays). That account was closed years ago. To my knowledge, I did not have another AU card with her. If she opened one, I did not know about it and certainly never used it. Moving on, after she passed away, I went through and closed all of her credit cards. I've been in and out of a grief fog and am not %100 sure about the date I closed most of them. I had thought it was in March, but perhaps it was in December or January.

This negative confuses me. The only theory I clearly have is that this account was somehow with my mom. But beyond just trying to figure out where it came from as it hasn't showed up on my report before, I'm also obviously confused about what is actually 'negative' about it. It says that it is in good standing. Can anyone give me some insight into any of this? How it got there, what I should do about it, and what impact it's having/will have on my scores?

Sorry for all the blank space in my post. I'm having issues trying to edit. Also, this acount was not* on my report before today.

Dispute it as "not responsible for debt" or even "not mine."

The AU might be someone else's, AU's sometimes get tacked on without a SSN being entered and the bureau makes the best guess at it, but regardless it is easy to get an AU airstruck typically.

Re: New Mystery Negative: How, Why, What?

Thank you, Relevate. I've never had to dispute anythng on my report before. Would it be best for me to do this directly with Chase or do you mean to dispute with Transunion? I'm sorry if this seems like a basic question; this is new to me. Thanks for the advice and help. It's much appreciated.

Disputes of information on one’s credit report are filed with the bureaus directly.
