Re: New to FICO..Credit Score question about Experian

Most  ppl know they 'shouldn't' worry so much about their fako scores and should just use them as a possible guide for upward or downward trends.  However since fakos  are free and ficos cost money,  people  tend to see their fakos a lot more often than their ficos and get attached to that number.  I know just yesterday, my heart sank a bit when a fako from one site went down 6 points, but then I was elated when my fako fm another site went up 17 points.

In other words, using fakos to track your score is like being on a diet and weighing yourself on a different scale all the time.  You've worked hard, thought you were doing everything right, but when you step on that other scale it tells you you've gained 10 pounds.  Logically you know that it's mostly due to the different scales, but you can't help but be upset that now someone is telling you you're fatter than when you started.

Re: New to FICO..Credit Score question about Experian

I use FAKO sites just to tell me when something's been updated on TU and EX since myFICO will only give me the day-to-day play-by-play for EQ. I don't pay attention to the scores--particularly when one FAKO EX site tells me my score is a 515 and the other tells me it's a 648. But knowing when an account has been changed on my TU and EX reports is always a good thing to know.

FICO 8: EQ 846 / TU 836 / EX 832
AMEX Platinum / AMEX Gold / BofA Cash Rewards Visa Sig $99,900 / Chase Freedom Flex $54,400 / Citi Double Cash $21,700 / AMEX EveryDay $30,000 / Gemini $25,000 / Chase Freedom Unlimited $25,500 / Chase SP $15,000
