I was recently accepted for a Discover It card and upon logging in to my account, it said "We don't have a FICO® Credit Score for you." However, last month, prior to getting the Discover It, I recieved a free Fico score from Discover without being a Discover customer (it was from Experian). I also have a VantageScore from TU. Why is Discover unable to provide a TU Fico score?
It's possible that you have an account on EX that is > 6 months old, but do not have an account that old on TU. One of the requirements for a FICO score is an account that is at least 6 months old.
Pull your three credit reports and take a look.
It's very common for provided FICO scores from any number of creditors to take several months to appear for the first time. With Amex, it took about 5 months before I saw my EX FICO 08. I'm in my 3rd month with Citi now and have not received a FICO score from them yet. CS told me it takes about 90 days when I inquired the other day. I don't remember specifically how long it took with Discover, but I also believe it was around 90 days.
Good points by BBS. That is likely the explanation. But be sure you have reviewed your reports too, as I suggested.
Thanks for all the info and advice!
I was pretty fortunate as far as Discover goes because I got my first TU FICO from them just days after I activated my card in late March. Also got my Experian FICO quickly after I signed up with their free "Score Card" service. On the other hand, it took a bit more than a month after I signed up with Lenny Credit before I could get my EQ FICO 8 score and I had to wait until early April, over a month after I opened my used car loan, before Penfed posted my EQ NextGen 2 on my account page.
Interestingly, I'm now able to get my TU FICO 8 scores three times a month free, as Discover, Synchrony-Amazon and Synchrony-Walmart all provide them at different times of the month based on when I opened my accounts with them.
