So I have not had an inquiry or new personal account in approximately 6 months. An unexpected hard inquiry appeared on my Experian report, but had no effect on my Fico8 score? Is this real life? That's the first that's ever happened to me.
I'm currently in the process of fighting with the degenerates that caused the unauthorized hard inquiry, but why didn't my score drop? I've been tempted not to care but trying to get another Citi card has been an absolute chore and test of my willpower so this is screwing everything up given how tight Citi is.
Ive had 2 inquiries on my experian report in the last month. No change in fico score at all.
Without knowing anything about your file. Once it becomes thicker. The less of a hit you'll take. My last app for the BCP HP was a 0 point loss. Less apping. Less hits.

Yes it's real life. I rarely (or never) have a score drop due to a hard pull. I think it's because I already have too many ![]()

Good luck getting the fraudulent INQ removed and either locking everything down or finding out how they got the info to do the HP in the first place.

It's not a case of identity theft thankfully.
Information around here indicates that depending on the score and scorecard, inquiries could be binned.
For example, 1-2 inquiries could equal a score drop. And 3-4 inquiries could equal another score drop. In this case, inquiries #2 and #4 would be freebies.
