Re: No score

It takes 6 months of a tradeline reporting to the bureaus before a score can be generated. I recommend getting a secured card or trying for a macy's card (preferably both) and letting them report for 6 months. At that point someone can have a FICO score and it will be in the mid-600's to 680. After a bit more history most loans and unsecured cards would be real possibilities.

If they have ties to a foreign bank that has branches here I would recommend starting there. I would also recommend they join a credit union that they are eligible for. Once they have a score they should be able to get credit products.

Re: No score

Very rough guess - between 680 and 720. Maybe towards the 700+ end. You should be fine to get an auto loan but not at the best rate. A credit union may give you their upper tier though.

Re: No score

To add to this.......not only do you have to have at least one account that has been opened 6 months, it has to have been reported within the last 6 months as well, and be undisputed.
