Old Lates or Open Dates?

What is more benificial for my score?

On the plus side having an aged CC factored into my average account age.

On the negative side that the account has old negative info (Lates and BK)?

I'm thinking about disputing a closed account that was opened in 1995 that ended in BK. Will removing this old info hurt me or help me? The account was closed in 2002, so it probably does not have much negative effect on my scores.

Re: Old Lates or Open Dates?

Unless is in marked w/ "Current/OK" it will drop off after 7 years from DOFD.

The old lates are not affecting you much.

I would drop all of the accounts into a speadsheet and do "what if's" on it.

Re: Old Lates or Open Dates?

sorry - I have been using speadsheets for 20+ years- Anyone else remember Lotus 1-2-3???

I assume all the time that people can create these on their own. PM me if you really need a sample spreadtsheet.
