Once a CC reports a lower balance (per my request) and it shows on the credit report (but notably not on the power score report I pulled here today).....is it possible that it is "reported" to Equifax but not rescored yet (not factored in)? Does that make sense?
Last week I asked Citi to report a reduced balance (12K reduced!) a few days before my statement.....they did, but it was a little ahead of schedule and they reported before the last payment had applied....putting balance down from 36213/40000 avail credit to 24747/40000. They were supposed to do it the next AM when the last pyt credited, leaving balance at 24099, which puts my overall revolving util at 48.5% instead of 49.5 (which I worried would round up to 50% and not have as big of an impact).
So, none of that made a score watch go off. Sigh. (And it is set for any increase) So yesterday was my actual statement date and it should have reported by this AM the new (24099 balance) but when my lender pulled my credit today it was showing 24747 BUT absolutely no change in score.....(which I am hoping against hope was the scenario of reported but not yet rescored.....please tell me this is possible!)
SO, the lender agreed to do a rapid rescore (her first one ever!) and we have that started (3rd party company doing it says it will be about 48 hours). Also, the guy w/that company was not optimistic that going from 24747 to 24099 would help. He felt we needed to get that card below 50% for any real benefit. (Which was impossible) BUT when I looked back over the power score I used today I see that *it* still has the prior 36213 balance reporting so am I crazy to be holding out hope here? I need TWO POINTS!!!!!
Also, how much is the lender's inquiry today going to hurt me in this rescore? She ran it in Jan and we were pre-approved but I want this better rate/package and need to hit 720 and am apparently stuck at 718....
Any sage advice is appreciated.
