Two days ago I pulled the 3B report for Equifax and it was still a 639. My SO gets his next update on 10/23 so I may pull mine again that day. About an hour ago I got Equifax notifications for 2 of my paydowns so maybe by then there will be improvement? Fingers tightly crossed!!! Thanks for your reply
Actually you want to pay all of your cards down to $0 except for one.
Accounts with balance is a non-trivial penalty on the mortgage scores, more so than FICO 8 and if you have most of your accounts reporting a balance that's 1 point easily on EQ FICO 5 for literally everyone.
I'd post the current amount reported to credit limit on each of your revolvers if you want better information but see about zeroing out most of them if you can.
If time is an essential factor where you can't wait for your cards' next statement reporting, you can call your CC after you pay them to zero and ask them to report off-cycle. Some do, some don't, so someone more experienced would have to advise you on that.
You may pay off your cards, but the CRA's won't know until the CC lender tells them.
Good luck!
It looks like all paydowns have been reported to them per my paying for a new report today. Still no change in score holding on at a 639 for Equifax.
Meanwhile, SO's report updated today and he's now 12 points above our goal middle score. The improvements appear to be coming from the cards I paid down as he is an authorized user on a few. Frustrating...
Woooooow Smh
***UPDATE as of 11/8/2019*** Equifax mortgage score FINALLY changed........ I'm at a 647 as of this morning!!!! I'm probably the only person in the world excited about a 647 credit score but it's just what I needed :-)
Just received the go-ahead to put in an offer!!!!
