Ongoing Frustration w/ myFICO & TransUnion

Well, I can't get any questions answered satisfactorily by myFICO reps or TransUnion reps, so I'll air this issue out in this public forum.

I checked my 3 FICO scores on this website in early-March, My EQ & EX scores were fairly close, about 20 points apart. My TU score was much worse though...96 points below the EQ score to be exact. Looking in the "Negative factors" for TU, it stated that "There is evidence of a late payment on your file as recent as 0 months ago.". This was odd to me, because I have not had a single late payment on any account in the past 18 months. I went through my accounts...one by one, and nothing showed late. So I give myFICO customer service a call & they go into my file & tell me that I need to dispute inaccurate data to TU directly. I explain that the problem is that there are no accounts showing a late payment status, so I wouldn't know what to dispute. The CSR then put me on hold, came back & told me that because I have a Bankruptcy discharged from August 2005 I can expect "weird things" to be happening on my report. I asked her to explain why this is the case only with the TU file, and she again told me that I would have to file a disput with TU directly...myFICO is unable to make changes to my report. I then spoke with two different managers at myFICO & they told me exactly the same thing.

After this I called TU, explained the same situation & they told me that there are no late payments on my report, but if FICO thinks there are then this is a problem with the FICO system and it's out of their control. I then called Fair Isaac customer service in California, and was told that they are unable to help because they do not have access to my TU report. I have since run my score two more times (in the first week of April, and again yesterday) and my score has stayed exactly the same (while my other scores have gone up significantly). The only difference I can see is that my negative factors now state that there is evidence of a late payment on my file as recently as ONE month ago, as opposed to ZERO months ago, yet I am still unable to find this evidence on my report...nor is anyone at myFICO or TransUnion able to find this evidence.

MY FRUSTRATION IS THE SIMPLE FACT THAT NOBODY AT MYFICO (THE ONLY PLACE WHICH HAS ACCESS TO BOTH MY REPORT AND MY SCORE) IS WILLING TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THIS PROBLEM. I AM UNABLE TO GET ANYONE FROM MYFICO WITH A TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE SYSTEM TO TAKE A LOOK AT MY REPORT/SCORE BECAUSE THE CSR REPS AND THEIR MANAGEMENT DO NOT WISH TO SPEND THE TIME ESCALATING THE ISSUE. STATING THAT "THESE THINGS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE YOU HAVE A BANKRUPTCY IN YOUR PAST" IS NOT A SUFFICIENT ANSWER WHEN THE 'NEGATIVE FACTORS' CLEARLY STATE THAT I HAVE A DELINQUENCY FROM ONE MONTH AGO, YET NOBODY IS ABLE TO POINT OUT WHERE THIS DELINQUENCY EXISTS ON MY REPORT. IF ANYONE FROM THE MYFICO TEAM IS READING THIS, WILL YOU PLEASE ALLOW ME TO GET IN TOUCH WITH SOMEONE WHO IS ABLE TO GIVE THE CASE A DEEPER INVESTIGATION?

I will be purchasing a new home in 6 months, and do not wish to be declined simply because Fair Isaac/myFICO doesn't see a system coding error as being important.

Thank you,

Jason

TU is totally hosed right now.  BKs showing up where there are none.  My file with them hasn't been updated in over a month.  That's nine accounts that have updated on the other two but not a peep from TU.  They will give you their scripted response because that's all they are trained to do.  Its sad that these people hold other quality of others lives in their hands but when the system is hosed, you can't get a straight answer.

I''m sure they are aware of it just towing the corporate tagline to lessen any liability they may be subject to for failure to correct the issue in a timely manner.  I just tried to pull my reports and was told my address was invalid.  I live in the same place today that I did yesterday.

Weird. Lots of reports on TU having issues. Myself (and others I know) are not having any issues.

Re: Ongoing Frustration w/ myFICO & TransUnion

update...

Just want to say thanks to Barry (the forum admin) for reading this thread and tracking down the root cause of the issue. I appreciate it very much!

It turns out that one of my Included In Bankruptcy accounts did not have a closed-date on file, so the FICO formula was using the "Date last reported" in considering the derogatory account, which was February 2007. With the issue isolated I was able to have the incorrect information corrected, and the result was a 50 point increase in my TU score Smiley Very Happy

Thanks again Barry!

Re: Ongoing Frustration w/ myFICO & TransUnion

I have just the opposite issue my TU is 677, Experian 676 and Equifax is 610 all showing the exact same information what's up with that.  I want to purchase a home in the next few months and do not know how this will affect the loan I can get?
