I don't believe it!
I thought I'd check my scores this morning, even though I had no real reason to suspect anything would have changed. And my TU score has jumped 11 points from 756 to 767 - does that make me a high achiever, then?!
I have two accounts out of 10 reporting a balance (mortgage & one CC), less than 1% utilization, and after a brief dip down to 11 months when I opened a new BofA card in December, my AAoAs is back up to a year. The TU simulator is now saying I might reach 800 in six months - last week it was telling me it would take 18 months for that to happen. Hm, we shall see!
Ooh, I'm ridiculously excited to see such a big jump (quite pleased with the EX too, and wish EQ would catch up!)
Hi fevmlo!
That TU score increase from 756 to 767 does make you a FICO High Achiever!
Congratulations!!!
Hello -- I do! I do! I don't want to brag, but I will.. 805, 815 and 826 are my scores. So, how can I make them better I ask. I am doing everything correct they tell me. Humm Does it really matter? Does any one have a perfect score of 850?
drae
Hi drae!
We haven't seen an perfect 850 scores around here! However, looking your high scores, it's just a matter of time.
Congratulations on being a FICO High Achiever and an 800 Club member!

I'm a new member here on this forum, and joined the myfico site recently to check my credit score for the first time. I've been in this country for close to 9 years now, quietly building my credit, but never once actually looked up my score, assuming it would be anticlimactic or disappointing, and just didn't obsess about it. On a lark I decided to check over the course of new years - my Equifax score was 802 :-) I haven't looked up the others though. It's nice to see I qualify in the high achiever category!
Congratulations, you are living proof that 20-plus years of history are NOT required to get an 800 score if you do everything else right. You must have a clean record (no defaults, lates, etc.), multiple types of credit, low utilization of your revolving debt, few recent applications for credit, etc. Care to tell us more about your profile? For instance, do you have a mortgage and/or car loan? I'll bet you do have at least a couple of credit cards and you don't let their balances get too high, possibly you pay them in full every month and certainly you pay a lot more than the minimum payments.
Hello MattH, thanks for your response! I don't have a 20+ year credit history - I'm just 30 and my oldest account is just over 8 years. I do have a clean record of paying everything on time, though. I don't have a mortgage - I live in the SF bay area and house prices are insane here. I have three credit cards - a Visa, an Amex and an MC. I used to have a car loan but paid it off after a few months because I couldn't really wrap my head around the idea of debt, perhaps because I'm Indian.
I was a bit surprised with my score because I had committed some apparent faux pas, like closing credit card accounts twice - ending a pair of original ones with those with a better cash back or other benefit, like the Costco Amex I have. I pay off all my credit cards every month, though, and typically use only one of them, and maintain a low average balance (1-2% I think, according to the report). I closed my old Amex and got the Costco one last summer, and also had an inquiry related to transferring my phone service from Tmobile to AT&T around the same time. So I can't say I've done everything apparently required to get an 800+ score, but I never quite micromanaged my credit score - I just did 'what I thought was right' :-)
Hi sunburn!
What a wonderful Equifax score. It's great to hear that someone who has a little over 8 years of credit history can also have an 800+ FICO score. I'm certain others will find your message inspiring!
