Assuming that student loan counts toward your credit mix as an open installment loan, I have no question that those multiple 30 day lates are holding back your scores.  Given the rest of your profile data (which is similar to mine) without the presence of those delinquencies your scores would be above 800 across the board.

*sigh* That makes me so sad. And they won't drop off until the end of next year. Smiley Sad

I am waiting so patiently for the last baddies to fall off before fall. You are really doing great!

Update: They fell off EX earlier than expected.Smiley Surprised.

Well, two things here.  One, know that where your scores are now and having 800+ scores, even 850, aside from being a more mentally satisfying number mean absolutely nothing with respect to obtaining credit.  Anything that someone can get with an 850 score, someone else can get with a 740-760 score.  Anything above 740-760 is just fluff and doesn't actually result in anything "better" so you're already in the best possible "excellent" bracket.

Second, have you tried getting those 30 day lates removed?  Depending on the creditor, people have had luck with GW letters.  If you visit the rebuilding forum and search around you'll find some great information there.  Also, since the lates are quite old, you could always ask the creditor if they'd be willing to exclude them early.  Again, people have mixed results with such requests, but it doesn't hurt to try.

GW letters can work wonders, especially if you print up multiple copies and send them to as many addresses as you can find.  I dubbed this method the "Saturation Technique" which you can read about at this link:

http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Rebuilding-Your-Credit/The-Saturation-Technique-Best-GW-adjustment-o...

I had a total of 4 dirty accounts, all with 60-120 day late payments on them and over time was able to clean up all of them using the technique above.  It does take time and persistence, but getting those accounts clean at about the 3 year mark saved me some 4 years of having held-back scores!

Nice job getting your scores into the mid-upper 700's!

It has been debated on this forum as to whether or not multiple 30 day lates impact your score for the full 7 years.  Some believe they only impact score for 2 years or so.  How does your AAoA, inquiries, utilization and credit mix look?

Hey BBS that's what I'm trying to figure out myself. I have between 5-10 over 90 day lates from Navient on my TU & EQ reports going as far back as 2010. TU removed the ones going back to 2010 through 2012 but left all of 2013 lates reporting. EQ of course didn't remove any. I have even contacted an advocate at Navient to remove by courtesy seeing there paid in full but still no dice. Guess I could just wait until 2020 for them to eventually fall off but it just burns me up inside not get them off my reports. I'm thinking that the lates past 2013 wouldn't have much impact on my scores but the lates more recent are and if removed would give me a substantial jump.

Gotcha.  A couple of comments with respect to what you wrote above.

First, how many negatives do you have (total) and how many accounts do they span across?  If you have multiple negatives, eliminating a couple of them (but still having at least one 90+) will result in little to no point gain on your scores.

90 day lates impact score for the full 7 years... they do not fade the way a 30 or even a 60 may.  If you have a single 90+, even if you get rid of everything else negative, your scores will not be able to get out of the 760's for 7 years.  And, that's if you have a very strong profile otherwise... 7+ year AAoA, no inquiries, 1% utilization, etc.

Ouch! Just checked and EQ is reporting 9 (90+) day lates while TU is reporting only 5 (90+) day lates. As you can see my scores from my sig I have worked very hard to remove a tax lien and judgement from all 3 reports and was just trying to get these student loans off knowing they where my last baddies hindering scores. My AAOA is around 2 yrs inquires ( in sig) utilization around 3%. So in your opinion I've pretty much maxed my scores for what I've currently have in negatives still reporting? Anything else I could do to improve? My take out one of those SSL perhaps?

Forgot to mention in respect to the accounts question. I have 2 separate Navient accounts reporting the negatives.
