I paid 2 collections I had from Midland Funding. (A collection agency). One for $500 the other for $4,000. They gave me a 40% discount so I actually ended up paying about $250 and $2,500. I immediately went over to CreditKarma and did a "dispute" using their link to TransUnion. Within 2 days I got a response that TransUnion DELETED the collections from my TransUnion account and it raised my VantageScore by 25 points. Within an hour I got a notice from MyFico that my FICO score changed with TransUnion. My actual FICO Scored was raised by 15 points. So, if you have the money, pay the collection because it gets completely deleted. Now I have to do a Dispute with the other 2 agencies.
