Please tell me why my credit score is 680?

I have a stellar credit history- three paid off mortages-15 various credit accounts paid in full over 35 years-six car loans- and a fico score from trans-union@680?

i currently have only one credit card with a 30% utilization rate on a $22000 limits

My credit score was 801 in 2005. Two years ago it was 740. Now 680 which makes my credit "fair". I have never missed a payment in 35 years. NO dings whatsover on my credit. NONE. And now i am faced with issues if i try to rent a place or buy a car on credit.

Can anyone tell me what I have to do to improve my score?

Please HELP~

Re: Perfect credit-never missed a payment- one credit card@30% utilization-and a low credit score.

Pay down your card and get a couple more. 3 seems to be the sweetspot for FICO it seems.

Do you know your EX score or EQ? For Example Amex Pulls EX so if your EX is higher you might had a good chance getting one of those cards. Citi pulled EQ for me so a higher EQ score could be good if you can find out which cards pull which. Barclays pull TU.    Credit score alone doesn't tell your Credit History and if you have no dings you might still get approved.

My Cards: Amex BCE: $9,000, Amex Hilton HHonors: $2,000, Amex ED: $12,000, Barclays NFL extra points: $3,000, Bank of America MLB cash rewards: $17,000, BBVA compass NBA Amex triple double rewards: $17,000, Chase Amazon: $1,000, Chase Freedom: $9,000, Chase Sapphire: $5,000, Chase Slate: $5,000, Chase Disney: $4,000, Citi Double Cash: $5,400, Citi AA plat: $5,500, Citi Simplicity: $3,000, Citi Thank you preferred: $8,800, Capital one GM: $2,000, Capital one PlayStation: $3,000, Gamestop: $1,150, Amazon Store: $5,000, Ebay MasterCard: $5,000, American Eagle Storecard: $750, Macy's: $500
EX: 744, TU:750, EQ: 740

No. I don't. I will pay for my Experian and Equifax scores tomorrow and get copies of my credit report. It is a shame that they have decided i am a poor credit risk.

Total crap.

Maybe there is wrong information on your reports like a Baddie that isn't yours.  I have heard stories where for example  2 people say both Named John   Smith living in Bronx NY with the same Zip code. John number 1 has 4 credit cards a Car loan and pays them all on time. John 2 has 5 Credit cards and a Car loan but forgot to pay the Car loan for 1 month 60 days past due. Even though John 1 paid all his bills on time John's 2 reported missing payment could of put on John's 1 credit report
