Plus Score by Experian?

Hi to all.

I am sure this question has been asked before, but I have not seen it on any of the threads that I have read.  I would like to know if the Plus Score by Exp holds any weight since Exp does not provide us with a FICO score anymore.  Mine was reported today at 772.  I guess if it is just another FAKO score I can nail it to the top of my computer since I have never seen a number this high cuz it sure does look nice.Smiley Very Happy  Any input would be appreciated.  I agree with many others on this forum.  This is, without a doubt, the GREATEST place I have found to help me out.  I have only been a member for a couple of months and I am happy that I came across it.  Thanks to ALL who help make it what it is.

Re: Plus Score by Experian?

i was curious about this too. all i can say is that experian is not using the fico scoring matrix to come up with our scores anymore. so the real question is what formula are they using, and do we have access to whatever that maybe. im going to be making a large purchase shortly and i went to the experian site and bought my score direct through them. this maybe a fako score, the only thing i want to see is the score that experian gives lenders, because in my mind it should be the same one they are selling consumers. and if its not, im sure there will be some legislation coming to make that happen for us!

Re: Plus Score by Experian?

Lenders are still using FICO scores, including an EX FICO. The issue was that we, as consumers, couldn't see that score. We can easily apply for a mortgage and in all liklihood, the lender will show us the EX FICO score, but at the cost of a hard pull.

To answer OP, PLUS scores still don't have any weight. It was EX's policy shift to prevent us from seeing the FICO score so as to drive us to pull and promote the PLUS. Not gonna work. They are still a poor predictor of credit risk.

The info in the reports are fine. I subscribe to CCT which is an EX product. I just ignore all the scores and advice.
