Problem with Capital one and Equifax, despites several credit cards and excellent score

Hello,

First, I wanted to apologize if my questions are not in the correct place. I checked on the forum and I didn't see any answer to my problem. Also, I am pretty new in the US (2 years) and I did my best to understand the credit rating system (we don't have anything similar in France) so I hope my questions are not stupid.

Here is my issue :

I have no debt at all, and an excellent and spotless credit score according to credit karma/sesame (760+), mostly thanks to my gf's initial credit cards I am authorized user on. All these accounts are showing up on Experian and Transunion reports.

However, I was never able to open a ING Direct (Capital one 360) checking. I always get rejected. I assumed it was because the authorized users cards were maybe not reported on equifax, as I am not able to get my report online for equifax.

However, I was able to open a Capital One credit card over 3 months ago under my name without any issue. [I put my gf as authorized user on it, so we virtually have the same cards/scores.  ]

Since then, Capital One sent me different offers directly in order to open the Capital One 360 checking I wanted to open before. They also sent me an offer to open a Sharebuilder account.

However, having a CC at Capital One apparently didn't change anything : I still don't manage to open any account, even though they send me incentives to do so -_-.

Also, my GF tried and manage to open the accounts without any issue. We both live at the same address since 2 years, we are both foreigners (french), the only difference is that she arrived 6 months before me and was the first one to open some cards. All our accounts/cards are managed like joint accounts, even when they are open under one specific name.

I don't understand how I can manage to open credit cards at a bank, but not investment or checking account. I tried to pull out my Equifax report again, but I can't access it online.

I suspect having a reporting issue on my Equifax report. Is that possible ? It seems that I have issues only when a bank uses them.

What should I do ? Would asking for a mailed report would help somehow ?

Thanks a lot for your help !

What reasons did they give you for denying you a checking account?
