Question about new cards!

Hi Everyone since im so new at this i was wondering if these new 2 cards i got i should pay off right away or leave a small balance to report to the bureaus. I am already doing AZEO with my other 4 older cards but this new amex and chase that i just used would be good to leave a lottle balance so the bureau see them right away and help me with the score or score will not improve from balance but for openning the account wether there is a balance or not? I was wondering since they are brand new if what i do on the first statement will matter anything since i already do Azeo. If not i will just pay in full. Thank you for your help

Re: Question about new cards!

Score wise it shouldn’t matter on modern algorithms. If Amex charge card it would matter a little on EX FICO 2 but ultimately a small amount doesn’t do much for the imputed limit anyway.

I would leave something on it personally but I only do rigid AZEO when I clean up for an app. Actually personally most Chase or Amex cards have some sort of SUB I tend to leave a big balance the first month while SUB chasing and then pay it off.

High balance doesn’t matter for scoring purposes but it currently is the only reliable way to show that you have used the card at some point in the past which might matter for future underwriting.

Re: Question about new cards!

Thank Revelate for this help i want them to start reporting the new cards right away. what would you think if i would leave lets say some little balance on the Amex blue cash everyday and another little balance on the Chase freedom unlim. Just for this month since mortgage is still far away? Any harm? If i leave a balance they would report faster?

Re: Question about new cards!

If this help the amex limit is $5000 and i already spent $756 now

And the chase limit is $6800 and i spent $490
Should i pay both full or leave $20 on each or even leave what is there now? What you personally think would be best for the first statement?

If you're interested in optimizing your scores, you should let one card report a small balance before paying it off, and let the other cards report zero balances.

Re: Question about new cards!

Like @SouthJamaica said. It doesnt matter how many cards you have. AZEO is AZEO. What you spend on each card and its credit limits doesnt do anything to scores. Its whats reported. The creditors like you using their cards so they make money.

Re: Question about new cards!

@Anonymous, the important thing to note about the Chase card is that they'll report zero whenever you pay to zero. That can be really convenient. Or it can be inconvenient if the zero balance results in the "all cards at zero" penalty. The good news is that Chase will report your balance whenever you request them to. So if you don't like what you see, there's an easy fix available.
