Startingslow,
Trust me, I'm not piling on. We all have our own issues to deal with.
I'm trying to figure out what the benefit to you was that made you dispute a "balance due". I've never heard of anyone doing this and it appears, on the surface, to be unnecessary.
In retrospect was it needed?
BSBRose,
I would keep calling the CSR until you find one that has the answer, because they do have it available to them. The CSR you spoke with is 1. ill trained,@.Lazy or 3. Doesn't care.
Typically the date is during the 3-5 day period prior to the date the statement is printed. You can find this date on one of your past statements.
Good Luck

Above are some examples for open and closed CCs where the poster disputed the TL's balance only to lose it. I have seen at least 2 posts, but couldn't find them today where the CCC completely closed the account and removed it from the CR. I suspect it is due to the CCC suspecting possible fraud and closing it out of an abundance of caution. Maybe the disputer disputed it as "not mine". I dunno.
It's funny: when you want them to delete, they won't. When you don't want them to delete, they do.
I'm not advocating a competing site, but transunioncs shows the actual date reported for each account.
My Cap One closing date is the 6th and it shows as reported on the 6th. My guess is that they report on your statement closing date as well.
