Rebound time?

Rebound time?

I have a quick question concerning score rebound. After many yrs of on-time payments, one of my accounts got hit with a 30 day late payment. I wont go into details as to how this happened but it was my own fault and I own it. I called the crediter to see about a good-will delete and was told there was nothing they could do even after speaking to a manager. Needless to say I took a 50 point hit. I am recovering from a ch 13 and it is set to fall off in June 2016. All on time payments since 2009

My question is how long till I see a rebound in my scores considering all payments are made on time? No baddies except for this late payment and the ch 13.

Thanx for your input.

Re: Rebound time?

Wow, 50 points on one 30 day late?  Dang, that seems excessive. But like everything else, as time passes it will gradually come back. I remember someone saying here that 30day lates seem to gradually age out until they're fairly irrelevant at 24 months, but 60day and higher lates have a longer-lasting effect.

Re: Rebound time?

Yea..pretty embarrassing on my part...the payment was normally auto deducted from a checking account. I decided I no longer needed that checking account and didnt deposit any money into it because I was just going to pay the loan off. Well, I got the due date wrong ( normally auto deducted) and paid it too late. I was on vacation at the time it was due and thought I had longer than I did to make the deadline. Didn't post till 2 days after the due date! Yes...The LAST payment was late! One of the STUPIDEST things I have ever done!

Re: Rebound time?

@HDBAGGER - How long after you paid the late did it show up on your credit report? I am in super similar situation (two days late after the 30 day cutoff), but so far no late has been reported. The latest update to the Credit Brueaus from this specific credit card already happend for the month after i missed the payment, and still nothing. Was there a lag for you?  Thanks
