Recent Derog?

What is the time frame they use when they consider something a recent derogatory?  When does it stop being 'recent' and how much does your score change when that happens?

Re: Recent Derog?

Well a "new account" averages 27 months.

A recent derog is most crucial in the first 12 months.  The new, the worse it affects you.  If it is a late and you get current, it will dissipate over time especially at each "birthday" and 4 years being the big time frame, because of the "FICO high achievers" those who have a late, it has been 4 or more years on average.

Re: Recent Derog?

Generally you'll see some good things at 2 years. A single 30 will barely count after 24 months (single as in not one of a half dozen or so elsewhere on your reports), and a 60-day will stop counting as a major derog at 24 months.
