SO Confused

So, I am also extremely angry. But that's for later. I have a new 30-day late(not my fault=anger) right before I'm applying for a loan. I went to TrueCredit(didn't know any better). My loan people I know only pull Transunion, but I don't know from where.  They say from Transunion directly, but I dont know what that means. TrueCredit is 695, but myFICO is 667.  What do I think?

Re: SO Confused

There are many places that pull credit, but all of them pull directly from 1 of the 3 CRAs, TU EX or EQ.

Sorry to hear about your late, you can and should take this up with the lender to remove it. How was it not your fault. Please explain.

Re: SO Confused

Well, I was just approved for part of my student loan funding, so life sin't totally in the toilet. I had a family illness that eventually went downhill. And I'm a med student. I knew where it was going, and I pre-scheduled payments on a personal loan.  Very small, may $750.  To be fair, I honestly can't remember if I got confirm emails. I will never delete them again. Anyway, they never processed, the company had noted my number wrong, and I didn't get the calls.  I didn't open my next bill, b/c I thought all was taken care of.  Also something I'll never do again. Didn't get any paper notice until post-30days. I disputed online, but that doesn't give you the best option of explaining at all, so it was denied.  So, I just sent a letter to Wellsfargo, and I hope they take pity on me.  The thing is, my credit score was over 700 for the first time ever. I was so excited, and this happened literally 4 days before I applied for my loan.  Sigh. Now my Ficos are TU667, EQ687. Didn't buy experian as of now.

Re: SO Confused

So, does that mean I should only pay attention to my Truecredit score for transunion?

They see your TU FICO score.  The scores you get on TC are not FICO scores, even for TU.

You can get all three of your FICO scores here at myFICO.

TC is still a valuable resource to be able to see your reports without having to pay for them every time.  That's the reason I continue to subscribe to TC.  Just be sure ignore the scores that come with those reports.

Re: SO Confused

I pull my credit reports through TC too. I completely ignore the TC FAKO scores. ScoreWatch and TC make a nice combination to monitor credit and scores. Too bad they can't offer them as a package.
