Satisfied or settle

When payed charge offs part of the agreement was to report as satisfied not settled. Would stating satisfied raise score any more than settled. What is the purpose of FAKO and why would it be used by a credit bureau

Thanks

Re: Satisfied or settle

Neither having it report as satisfied nor settled will help your FICO score, unless the charged off amount was still being factored into your CC utilization.  Having it show as settled is the worst possible scenario, as future lenders will look at that as a black mark.  FICO scores unpaid and paid collection accounts the same, it doesn't matter that it was paid eventually, the fact that it was severely late is what FICO is concerned with.  You can attempt to GW the OC (this is the OC you're referring to right?) to have the account removed from your report.  When paying old debts, the goal is to either get the derogatory references completely removed (i.e., lates, charge off, etc) or to have the entire tradeline deleted from your report.  As you're new, you should read the following threads for more information on the credit rebuilding process and to help acquaint you with the board.

The purpose of a FAKO is for the CRA to make money.
