Score Guess

I have been reviewing threads at this site for over 1 year and have gained a wealth of knowledge as well as

learned the results of procrastination.  I have read over 4,000 threads and now feel comfortable enough to

post.  This is my story.

1 Judgment (08),

8 Collections (all greater than 2y.o.),

2 chargeoffs (CC w/balance $2152, Utility bill $332)

4 derogs (accounts that were 60 days +)

After this week, my credit profile will look like this:

0 Judgments

0 Collections

2 Chargeoffs (Will pay Cap1 $1600 next week, balance in 2-weeks, will attempt PFD w/Utility bill)

4 Derogs (all are closed with 0 balance except Cap1)

Question 1:  What kind of score increase should I expect w/Judgment deleted and 8 collections deleted (all HIPPA)?

Question 2:  What additional increase is reasonable by paying Cap 1 off.  Acct closed, Charged off but util now is 120%

Re: Score Guess

You'll be rid of the public judgment (hooray!), but you'll still have the chargeoffs, if you can't PFD, so you'll still be in a serious derog scorecard (score bucket.) So you might not see a huge jump, but you'll see a jump, I'm sure.

Of the remaining derogs, are they all 30's or older 60's? If so, they're minor derogs. If you have any new 60's or 90's+ of any age, they're putting you in the serious derog bucket as well.

But regardless of score changes, that's very impressive work. Congrats on the clean-up!

Oh, and I'm not sure that paying the charge-off will help your scores, unless you're also getting dinged for a maxed-out account, even though closed. I'll have to leave it to those more familiar with CO's.

Re: Score Guess

One of the chargeoffs is Cap 1 with a balance of $2152.  Util is currently at 120% because of this.  Hopefully it will

get my util <9%.  Thanks to all who contribute to this board.  I'm planning to do a message of the top 25 things I've

learned here.  I've read over 5,000 messages to date.  Been reading and strategizing for over a year, just started

posting this week.  I may not be a super contributor yet but I am super informed.:smileyhappy:

Expecting 50 pts from paying off Cap 1 alone, sound reasonable?

Re: Score Guess

Of the 4 derogs.  All but Cap 1 have 0 bal.  2 are older than 2 years.  The 2 remaining:

Cap 1 DOFD 10/2008 150 days

Home Depot 9/2009 Last Late +60 (Paid off 0/2009)
