I got jipped too, I only saw a 34 point increase on my Fico's from paying util. from 97% to 3%. I'm guessing your overall profile contributes to how many points you get.

how many accounts are included in that utilization though? i would think that a 34 pt increase would be pretty good if it was only 1 account

Re: Score Simulator Accurate?

It's my one and only cc account, I was just expecting a bigger jump based on other peoples experiences.
MyFico's:
June 09: TU 591, EQ 526, EX 576
June 10: TU 647 EQ 643, EX 661
March 12: TU 700 EQ 700

Ditto - One CC is where I got my 40 points. I'll get more CCs 6 months (or so) after I get a house.

Re: Score Simulator Accurate?

Would this imply that such a jump would also take place for other similar cc lines/balances if they are reduced by the same amount? (for instance, one cc paid off jumped 34 points as previously mentioned so 2/3 lines would jump 100+ maybe?)

Thank you guys for your input, it was right on.

Re: Score Simulator Accurate?

I would think you will be above 700 very soon.

Re: Score Simulator Accurate?

The score simulators on all sites are primarily one (some two) dimensional criteria simulators.
No one using them is one or two dimensional in their credit activities.
Credit scoring has five broad criteria, and most affect the others.
The score sims will never give you accurate score projections, taking into account all scorng criteria, for if they did, it would lead to rapid reverse engineering of the algorithm that produces those scores.

If they allowed you to sim all of you scenarios, then ten, 100, or 1000 people could share their sims, and recreate the algorithm behind them.

That wont happen.  The sims are a placebo.  I ignore them.

Touching on what Robert said, I find the information here that people post about what hppens when to their scores when a certian event happens to be more usefull that any score simulator.

I also dont put a lot of faith in it.  In most cases, we know what will help or scoes and what will hurt it.  Also in many people's cases (like me), time is the only factor in a score change which we dont need the simulator to tell us that.
