Hello fico world can someone please move this post to the correct place .. I wanted some advise either on applying for a few cards or just wait thank u
Sounds like you should head to the CC forum. As a vast generalization though without knowing anything about your file, 9 times out of 10 if someone asks a "should I app or wait" question my advice is to wait.
@LooksAreDeceiving wrote:Hello all,
A couple of days ago, I applied for a Discover card. Before the inquiry hit my report, my EX FICO 8 was 757; the inquiry dropped it to 740 (lower than I expected, unfortunately).
This morning, my score had risen to 747, with the only change being my AoYA hitting 6 months. Is this to be expected? I though that there was a boost when the AoYA reached 12 months, but didn't realize there was one beforehand.
I have a thin file, with only one open account and a 5% utilization.
Thanks.
Thanks for the data point. We don't know for sure but that increase at 6 months sounds right to my ear.

BM, can you elaborate a bit more on what you mean regarding the low-end of AoOA being 6 years?

BBS, or anyone, is there a function on here to display a list of the files that we previously read in chronological order?
Good Morning! Can you go into your browser History and scroll down to see? (if recent)
I'd be glad to help you search if you tell me what to look for. I found a few posts by TT but not sure it's them or his posts you were referring to.(ie. AAoA going from 6 years to under 5...that type of thing) Anyway, enjoy reading yours and BBS post, still way over my head but hopeful to learn more through you. Lemme know, I'll help.
