Score drop of 31 points - Darn to put it nicely

I have become a myfico junkie.  My score dropped 31 pts in the last two days.  I have a pr drop off and missing payment date unknow show up in the red on my report.  Any help?  I was making progress thinking I was going to hit 700 soon.  I went from 668 to 637 in two days.

I have a missed payment date unknown as well negatively impacting my score..I think it is from a charge off account that shows no lates ..that's all I could think it was ..I think the computer is just figuring Ok you have a charge off there must have been some lates..when the status on this account got updated I got dinged  points so I feel your pain!

what is a pr though ? I couldn't see it on the abv page.Smiley Happy

PR = Public record (BK, judgment, tax lien, unpaid child support, etc.)

If you only have one PR (or one remaining PR) on your report, and it falls off due to age, PFD, etc., you are re-assigned into a new score bucket with others who have no PR's. Lots of time your scores take an initial hit, because your new credit peers have better reports overall, but as you go along, cleaning up, maintaining good history, maybe adding some more credit, your scores pass where you were and keep going.

Re: Score drop of 31 points - Darn to put it nicely

Shucks. I have a paid tax lien about to fall of this month. In addition to that I have (on TU where it is falling off);

1 good 2 yo Citi Account
1 good 11 yo Citi Account
1 38 yo Amex AU Account (has not yet reported)

1 6 1/2 year Cap1 CO
1 6 3/4 year unpaid Midland Collection (hoping to get this off since parts report incorrectly)
1 6 1/4 year old unpaid Professional Collections (ditto on this)

Hopefully in one month;
Lien falls off
Amex 38 year old is added

Which would all of a sudden make me a person with very long credit history and no PR which as far as I can tell is a way different bucket then 11 yo history AND a PR. Man am I going to bucket hell or what!?

Makes me wonder if I should re-think my credit-application strategy, which is wait until Amex on, PR off, since score is about 670 now.

Yep, picking up that instant age can be a mixed blessing. When I went from 12 years to 18, my EQ went from 651 to 636. But that was in October, and now, four and a half months later, EQ is 728. So I'm pretty happy!

Where re-bucketing is devastating is when you are right on the edge of a major app, like going to closing on a mortgage. * shiver * Smiley Surprised
