Score increase question

I currently have a FICO score of 630. In the past couple of days I have had a couple of inquiries for a new car. (Salesman was doing it on the wrong car which was $4k more than the one we were talking about) I get a scorewatch email today that my score increased up to 650!! I didn't purchase the power score but this is the reasoning in the increase:
You’ve recently missed a payment or the date of your most recent payment is unknown.

Is it possible that because of the new credit inquiry my score increased? The only other thing I can think of is I had some late payments in June 2006 that might've been dropped or aged, although my GW's were denied.

Re: Score increase question

No inquiries never increase your score, must have been a util change or something else that triggered this - maybe your average age went up.

Re: Score increase question

I'm under the assumption it was an aged account. I went to my credit union to get financing and I had no late's on their score. I had 2 lates (at the time) that were 24 and 25 months old so I assume those dropped off causing the increase. Late last week the hit on my credit score came in for the auto loan. It was only 9 points, I figured it would be more. I'm still higher than I was 4 months ago even with the loan.

That would be my guess too. Some account(s) or baddy had a birthday.
