Re: Score updates coming quick

OK, I see the difference....my confusion was, I was trying to relate to the article where they could see in between the statements and how much you are using the card. It always bothered me to PTZ every month because looking at all the zero's month to month, looks like you are not even using your cards. Can they currently tell how much you roll through your accounts each month?

I took the message about a mortgage review is they will be able to look at your history and see they you don't ptz every month, which I would take it that I need to PTZ all the time now for a clean history. If you aren't then it doesn't matter?

BTW...My EQ removed everything this weekend. I snoped around on Sesame, CK, and EQ's website and it looked like EQ was clean...so I pulled my EQ 1B a few moments ago...753 !! On 10/24 it was 652! Smiley Surprised

My scores this morning now are EQ 753, TU 773, and EX 747  Smiley Very Happy

Re: Score updates coming quick

Hi Stryder.  As a follow-up to what I just said, the other thing you may not have been totally clear about is the full extent of what creditors (and credit analyzing programs) can see with the new trended data (TD).

They have always been able to see the amount of the last reported balance.  But with TD, they can also now see:

       * the date that the balance was reported

       * the dates and amounts of all payments you make to the credit card

This is what enables them to make this Transactor-Revolver distinction.  They can see when your statement cut, how much was on that statement, and then of that amount how much you subsequently paid.

That's why a person who PIFs would get categorized as a Transactor -- because the analysis software (or a manual reviewer) would be able to see that a statement was submitted showing that he owed $87 (say) and that he then a week later made a payment of $87.

Got it! Thanks for spending the time to clarify that for me. That is an important detail I wanted to fully understand..

Re: Score updates coming quick

So happy your scores are going up, buddy.  That's just great.  Must be a huge deal for you.

You ask two questions.  I reproduce below with my answers.

Can they currently tell how much you roll through your accounts each month?

No.  TD does not contain how much you spent that month.  That could be guessed at very reliably, however, by looking at the amount of your payments.  If a person made $500 in payments in excess of what his reported balance was, then one could deduce that he was buying at least $500 worth of stuff.

Note: By "they" I am going to assume you mean anything that pulls your credit reports, whether it is a credit analyzing computer program or a human doing a manual review.

It always bothered me to PTZ every month... If you aren't then it doesn't matter?

No.  You don't need to PTZ every month.  But you should still do the PTZ thing in the month before a major credit pull where a FICO score would matter a lot.  (Examples: getting a car loan, a home loan, or needing to squeeze out a few extra points for a difficult to obtain credit card.)  Fortunately the extra FICO points you get for having all cards at zero except one are points you can get instantly -- you don't have to create a long history of doing that.  The history part of what you want to be doing is creating a history that shows you have never been carrying a balance on any card.  That gets at this whole T-R distinction which involves the creditor looking at what you have been doing for the last 24 months.

Of course, some people may just really like carrying balances for whatever reason   (The 0% offer, etc.)  Obviously they will be carrying balances and that's their prerogative -- totally may be the best move for them.  I just mean that if a person wants to do well on a future T-R analysis then he should shift away from carrrying balances soon so that he establishes this longer 24-month history of being a T rather than an R.
