Scorewatch Question

So I've had Scorewatch Since February and each time I've had a score increase or an alert I've seen evidence of it when I pull the experian report.  Today I was told the my score went up 12 points (yay!) and I pulled the report again.  Nothing had changed since my last report.  Balances were the same, no inquiries had fallen off.  Zilch, zip, nada!  Has anyone seen score increases for no reason at all?  I'm just curious.

Re: Scorewatch Question

Sure --sometimes it's just things going through the aging process. You might want to check if any accounts (or negatives) had birthdays.

It can be hard to believe, but if we just behave ourselves and don't go hunting new credit, our scores tend to creep upwards with time. Yes, there are plateaus, but sometimes there's a very satisfying little hop.

Re: Scorewatch Question

Hello! Just my personal experience, Scorewatch through myFICO is very behind. I also have the 3 in 1 monitoring through EQ directly and have received alerts regarding changes. I signed up with Scorewatch here on 04/01 and pulled my report before going to the mortgage company to find that my score dropped 65 points on 04/06. I did not get the scorewatch alert until the 7th. I have had major changes in my EQ report without being alerted at all. Like a judgment deleted, a new account opened, 2 collection accounts removed, account balances changing. I thought it was going to be great, but have found that it lags behind. Which, in all honestly this is considered a 3rd party, so myFICO has to wait for EQ to update before they can, so I understand that. I just this evening signed up with the Scorewatch through EQ directly since they are very quick to advise of alerts. I am still somewhat in the rebuilding stage so I really need updates more frequently. I can log on daily and pull my EQ report with the gold watch. Just my personal opinion...or two cents.

Re: Scorewatch Question

I took your advice and purchased the 3 in 1 as well and pulled my Experian (no fico but at least I have an idea of who is reporting what) and they are all still reporting similar balances and the errant judgement is still on my record.  Also in the last 5 days my EQ has jumped from about 633 to about 680 and my TU went from 627 to 659 and they aren't even reporting the actual balances that I've recently paid on my CC debt this month either.  It's just very strange...I'm hoping to buy a new car at the end of the month and I want the scores as high as possible.  I'm not trying to look a gifthorse in the mouth though.  A minimum of 32 points in score raises over 10 days is NOT something I'm going to complain about Smiley Happy

Re: Scorewatch Question

I wouldn't complain, either, but is this recent set of scores from a 3-in-1 service? If so, they're FAKO's, so they can't be compared (in terms of increase or decrease) with your FICO's. Smiley Sad

Keep up the good work, though, and the real scores will keep increasing as well.

eta: Equifax does have a 3-in-1 service that also comes with an EQ FICO, I believe, but the other two are FAKO's, and if you get EQ scores with subsequent pulls, they are also FAKO's. At any rate, I know that the 3-in-1 service won't keep updating your EQ FICO score.

This was confirmed by an Equifax CSR.

Re: Scorewatch Question

Score,

The new scores I got today were ones I purchased from myfico so they are legitimate.  The original 3 in 1 was from Equifax because I wanted to check the actual report and see if anything was different from the myfico scorewatch service.  I figured I had the extra money to spare...might as well make sure everything is on the up and up Smiley Happy  Either way I'm happy and glad that the scores have gone up over 40 points a piece since the end of February.

Re: Scorewatch Question

I must be stuck in a sink hole.  My EQ has not changed in a year or so.  The other day they sent me an alert on an account that has been closed for almost a year.

What are the negatives and positives on screen 2 of your report? How do they differ from screen 2 of the earlier report?
