Scoring Question: My Fico Transunion vs Transunion vsTransunion that creditor pulled

My Fico Trans on 8/13 showed

FICO® SCORE 685

View Report: 08/13/2013

My Score on Transunion 8/13 695 today it is showing 703

So I applied for Barclays  8/13 ( I know people think this should be in cc section) and was approved for $500. Asked for bump and they said no due to a Transunion Score of 607

yes that's 607???

Why the difference? The 2 scores I pay for  685 695 come out way higher than the ones lender pulls 607??

Can someone please explain. As my scores go up am I really getting false hope?

Any insight would be appreciated

What you get here on myFICO is TU98.  What you get on TU is a FAKO.  What Barclays uses could be an internal score or a FICO CC enhanced score.  Did they give you a score range?

There are 49 different versions/models of FICO and we the consumer only know the ones the CRAs want us to have.  Which are the ones on myFICO.   Even though they are FICOs they are developed exclusively for the different scoring criteria of the CRAs and will all be different.

Re: Scoring Question: My Fico Transunion vs Transunion vsTransunion that creditor pulled

No they sent a letter in mail and score on that day was 607. So I was confused by the difference. I am in a rebuilding stage and glad for the $500, however was surprised by the huge difference in score. I was using My Fico from both EQ 637 and TU 695 to base my decision on to apply or not for the cards. Received WalMart as well and they said the score was 607 that same day as well. Had I known it was 607 probably would not have applied. So got lucky and approved.

My concern from here on out will be to trust/believe the numbers I see as realistic? If I had applied for a car based on the assumption of My Fico TU 685 and TU 695 and when they pulled a 607 I may not have been approved for a loan.

Re: Scoring Question: My Fico Transunion vs Transunion vsTransunion that creditor pulled

The Walmart card uses the newest version, 08.  That version is still not widely used.

The T98 version from here is still used by some but not as many as before.  It is accurate for the version/model it is.

The TU score from TU I would never use as a guide to what a lender would pull.  FAKOs and FICOs can vary widely.

A good rule of thumb is try to get your TU and EX scores from here at least 30 - 40 points higher to try to gap the differences in what a lender may use.

Is there anything on your reports that can be worked on?

Not TU byt EQ. My EQ score here has been the same as what I've been receiving from DCU since I started getting a score from them in June. Exact same score each money. Feels good to see something match. I wish CRA would just have one score for a total of 3 that everyone uses and that is it.

Pre-Credit Rebuild Scores Pre-DC (3/24/22) - EQ - 524 / TU - 519 / EX - 495

Current Scores - EQ - 687 / TU - 663/ EX - 677

TD Bank - $5000 / Mercury - $5000 / Capital One Savor One- $5000 / SDFCU Secured - $4990 / Capital One QuickSiver - $4500 / Ally Master Card - $2800/ Walmart Mastercard - $2250

Were those all pulled around the same time? That's a big spread!

The TU that I get from Walmart tends to be about 20-25 points lower than what I see from EQ.

Re: Scoring Question: My Fico Transunion vs Transunion vsTransunion that creditor pulled

I have a similar issue. I purchased my TransUnion 3 credit bureau reports and was all jazzed about Scores TU (629) Experience (664) Equifax (659).  I applied for a retail store card and was denied.  I re-ordered my Fico scores and they are all in the 577 range. Why would credit bureaus push a product that doesn't provide accurate scoring information?

All scores are accurate for the score they are and where they come from.  The CRAs push their scores because they get money when you purchase them.  They should also all say they are for educational purposes only because they are not FICO scores.
