Short Credit History

I'm hoping someone can help me understand my FICO score.

On my recent EQ report, it says there are three things hurting my FICO score:

1. You have a public record and a serious delinquency on your credit report.
It goes off the books in 2 months. Yea.
2. You have multiple accounts showing missed payments or derogatory descriptions.
On the helping your FICO score side: You've recently been paying your bills on time. Your most recent late payment happened 2 Years, 8 Months ago. Yea again.
3. You have a short credit history.
Your oldest account was opened 19 Years, 7 Months ago.
Average age of your accounts 11 Years.
Most FICO High Achievers have an average age of accounts between 6 and 12 years.
Why is my 11 year AAoA, which falls within the range of FICO HA AAoA, hurting my FICO score? Why isn't it helping?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Short Credit History

AAoA of 11 years and oldest account of over 19 years is in no way negative.  But it is not a postive.  FICO takes for poor performance, and takes good performance as an expected consmer action.

First, there is nothing you can do to improve on account ages, other than to refrain from seeking new credit, and just getting older.  And second, those numbers are well within the good to very good range, so I would just ignore that inconsequential comment.

What is hurting your score is the presence of prior derogs.

Droppng of the public record may help, but only if you have no other major derogs still reporting.

What are the specific derogs still remaining in your CR?

What is your % util on open accounts?

Those aren your immediate concerns.
